Historical Property Description:Built in 1734, Amerscot House Inn is a center chimney colonial home, one of several from that era that remain in Stow today. Documents record all the owners of the property from Deliverance Wheeler, who bought the land in 1734, up until the present day. The original owners paid for the land and house in £'s sterling - as their purchases pre-dated independence from Britain and the US Dollar! Stow is amongst the earliest of the colonial towns and was first settled in 1660. Minutemen from the town marched to nearby Concord on April 19th, 1775 in response to the British attack that sparked the Revolutionary War.
